Devonian Slate, so called as first studied in our neighbouring county of Devon is referring to the Devonian Time Period lasted from 417 million years ago to 354 million years ago. The slate we quarry today was formed during this time period from the colliding of two supercontinents Gondwana and Euramerica.
Slate producing areas are in Cornwall and the Lake District in England and in Aberdeenshire and Argyll in Scotland, and parts of North Wales.
Will it match the previous load?
Natural stone and the cutting & treatment processes it undergoes are obviously subject to minor variations due to the strata layers and saw variability. There is a general tolerance of up to 50mm for natural paving and 10mm for depth cuts on facing stone.
Most products are transported via the Pallet network meaning we can deliver nationwide. For local deliveries we can deliver loose loads, please contact us for a quote.
